ROMNEY VS. SHARPTON: IS THERE NO GOD?

In one corner, pugnacious preacher Al Sharpton

In the other, Mormon presidential candidate and certified Friend of Xenu, former governor Mitt Romney.

TURN OFF THE RADIO!

The conflict? Sharpton's remarks while debating atheist hair-do/journalist Christopher Hitchens, "As for the one Mormon running for office, those that really believe in God will defeat him anyway, so don't worry about that. That's a temporary situation."

MITT RESPONDS!

"It shows that bigotry still exists in some corners... I thought it was a most unfortunate comment to make."

Asked if he thought Sharpton is a bigot, the former Massachusetts governor said, "I don't know Rev. Sharpton. I doubt he is personally such a thing. But the comment was a comment which could be described as a bigoted comment.

WHO WON?!

The premise of the controversy, that someone who might have been listening to Al Sharpton's radio program during an interview with Christopher Hitchens wouldn't be offended by at least something (if not by the very premise of such an abortion of nature), is fucking ridiculous in ways that defy words or even guttural shrieks.

This also implies that had a campaign press starved for any kind of news in this vacuum of stupid not picked this story up, anyone would have even heard about it (let alone be offended by it). Once again, probably not!

Finally, this leaves Mitt Romney. With his Thetan level obviously in the dumpster after a hard week of making things up at Bible colleges, Romney needed a clear win here. But, as we've discussed previously, nobody fucking cared, so Romney also emerges looking silly.

The winner now seems obvious and unavoidable: Satan.

If, as many fear, the Apocalypse is nigh, the idea of Al Sharpton, Christopher Hitchens, and Mitt Romney all on television at one time is as certain a prelude to locusts and pools of fire as any in American politics.

What next?
